About Art McMurtrey: Art is a native of North Carolina and began surfing when he was 15. Art surfed the coast of North Carolina until he went off to college in Puerto Rico where he enjoyed surfing while attending college. After returning to North Carolina, Art was off again, this time to Hawaii where he surfed throughout the island chain. Art has also surfed California and went to Costa Rica in the Spring of 2007 to surf with legends Estuardo and Nobles.
